Interguru's ldif to Tab-Ascii/csv Conversion
This page will convert a ldif nicknames file to a tab-ascii or csv file which can be imported into a spreadsheet or database.
Instructions
Note: Read all instructions before doing anything.
- The input is an Ldif file which you can get by exporting
from some mail programs such as Netscape Communicator.
It is a text file, but often
has an ".ldif" extension.

- Using the Browse button below, select this file
- Press the process button
The output is a tab-separated, or comma separated (csv) file (your choice)
in the following format.

The first line is a list of column headings for the address lines.
A mailing list line
contains a list of aliases, either comma separated (if the file
is tab-separated) or semicolon separated (if the file is comma separated).
- Use the Browse button to select the input file
- Press the process button
- Using the File Menu: Save As save the ouput file on some convenient place on your disk for your use.
Technical Notes
If you want a sample ldif file to test this script on, click here, and save the file as "address.ldif"
To avoid overburdening the server, we have limited the file to 120k bytes and 1200 lines
